The Magic of Believing in Miracles is Accomplished by Living your Belief

The magic of believing in miracles, refers to the fact our beliefs affect the physical world around us. Beliefs are thoughts, affected by imagination and emotions that influence our reality. All thoughts possess an associated sound, formed in line with our intent, which influences our environment, including our bodies. However, the alpha and the omega is consciousness. That is to say, it all begins and ends with consciousness.

I AM is ALL THAT IS that omnipresent consciousness that we all are. Each of us, as the I AM consciousness, chooses to limit our self by our own concept of self. When we absolutely know the only reality is consciousness, conceiving itself in an infinite number of forms and qualities, however good, bad or indifferent; then we shall be free of outside influences, choosing to take responsibility for creating our ideals, really our conceptions. Then we can break free of our self-imposed limitations and create ever greater conceptions of ourselves.

In Consciousness Shift, we saw how quantum physics has proven how we influence our world via thoughts and emotions, and, I would add, imagination. One common example of the magic of believing is the placebo effect, where a sham treatment is given an ill patient, and the patient, believing she is receiving a medication, recovers from her illness. Brain scans, concomitant with the sham treatment, proved, beyond a shadow of a doubt, physical changes in the brain occur as a result of the sham treatment.

In the book, "The Life and Teachings of the Masters of the Far East," by Baird Spalding, a master asks why we worship (place our consciousness on) old age? He explains, by preoccupying our consciousness with aging, we are worshiping it. Thus we are looking forward to, all the expected vicissitudes of aging, such as senility, heart anomalies, cancer, etc., instead of placing our mind and imaginations on positive outcomes, as exemplified in the placebo effect.

So powerful is the influence of the placebo effect that it has worked successfully on people who did not consciously believe in the effectiveness of the medication. Presumably, they believed unconsciously in the treatment. Hence, it is the unconscious mind that is responsible for the healing placebo effect.

Thus conscious believing is not enough for the magic of believing to work since it is the unconscious belief that affects healing. However one can communicate with the unconscious. I recall, several years ago, having a dream that I couldn't decipher. For about a week, I found myself attempting to figure out the dream, just before falling asleep. Finally, a deep voice, in a dream, told me the answer to the riddle. Because the answer resonated with me intuitively and logically, I knew it was correct. Hence, here is evidence of direct communication with one's unconscious. If I can do it, you can too. It suggests, if we want answers to our problems, repetitively present the answer to our unconscious before falling asleep. This is an example of, not only the magic of believing in action, but of the conscious and unconscious mind cooperating and working together.

Psychology has taught there is a distinct separation between the conscious and the unconscious mind, that there is a virtual antagonistic dichotomy. As demonstrated in the preceding example, this is another deception that prevents humankind from exercising the powers of the mind, by creating a division, where there is none. As mentioned in People of the Lie, the conscious mind is not at the mercy of uncontrollable unconscious psychological impulses, unless we believe that to be the case. In actuality, for optimal health and empowerment, the conscious and unconscious mind work together. We can create a cooperative environment between the conscious and unconscious mind by both believing they work together and ridding ourselves of beliefs that do not serve us any more.

We have been taught that certain events occur as coincidences. However, Quantum Physics indicates that there are no coincidences that everything has a cause. Every synchronicity that transpires in our lives results from our thoughts, consciousness in other words. It is only the unaware mind that believes in coincidences, while the aware mind understands the magic of believing.

The old affirmation, "I am getting better and better with each and every day," may seem like an excellent tool, in regards to using the magic of believing, for self-improvement. If, however, you have been one to not express your emotions; for example, you believed it is better to demonstrate a tough exterior, then this affirmation will work against you, if you haven't changed the negative belief to a positive one to begin with. Hence, you, first, must analyze your beliefs, with the intention of ridding yourself of those that do not serve you before use of an affirmation.

It helps to recall that beliefs are not reality, in and of themselves, but beliefs about reality and, thus, amenable to change. This change is achieved, as described in "The People of the Lie," by creating a belief opposite to the one that no longer serves us. Then, despite, what we once believed was the so-called facts, acting as if the new belief was true, until it can be accepted by the unconscious mind, much as a habit becomes ingrained. Then activating one's imagination and creating the feeling that goes along with the new belief. The greater the intensity of the belief, imagination and feeling, the sooner it is likely to be accepted, and, actually, result in a physical effect in the real world, sometimes known as a miracle. This is how the magic of believing operates.

More information, on the magic of believing, can be read, "In the Nature of Personal Reality, by Jane Roberts.

Note that meditation practice, suggests a similar approach as the magic of believing:

  1. Relax the mind and just let go in the way that suits you.
  2. Or focus on the breath: inspire (in spirit) & expire (out spirit)
  3. Decide on a specific intention (a motivating thought focused at a central absorbing point), for example, creating rain in your area.
  4. Direct your consciousness to your heart region.
  5. Using your imagination, see the rain clouds rolling over the hills in the distance, gathering across the region, darkening, smelling the scent of rain, feeling that first drop, hearing it pour, etc.
  6. Intensify your "seeing" imagination as much as possible.
  7. Still directing your consciousness to the heart region, generate and feel unconditional love or joy as you see & feel rain falling.
  8. Intensify the unconditional love or joy feeling as much as possible.
  9. Finally, see that the great storm has brought abundant rain, in other words, it's already done.
  10. Repeat the process in the awake but dreaming state.
  11. Frequently feel your wish fulfilled, and in the ensuing days express heartfelt thanks for the rain.
  12. Do not look for results immediately but do expect results.

In Greg Bradden's book, "The Divine Matrix," the magic of believing is demonstrated, by an experiment at Beijing University, where three doctors exercised the power of belief, in a scientific manner, causing a large, immedicable tumor, to vanish in a matter of several minutes. This remarkable magic of believing demonstration was documented on videotape.

The magic of believing requires a specific kind of believing, an acting as if what you desire you already have. In his book, The Power of Awareness, Neville Goddard expresses the approach in detail:

To be transformed, the whole basis of your thoughts must change. But your thoughts cannot change unless you have new ideas, for you to think from your ideas. All transformation begins with an intense, burning desire to be transformed. The first step in the "renewing of the mind" is desire. You must want to be different [and intend to be] before you can begin to change yourself. Then you must make your future dream a present fact. You do this by assuming the feeling of your wish fulfilled. By desiring to be other than what you are, you can create an ideal of the person you want to be and assume that you are already that person. If this assumption is persisted in until it becomes your dominant feeling, the attainment of your ideal is inevitable.

...In giving birth to your ideal, you must bear in mind that the methods of mental and spiritual knowledge are quite different. This is a point that is truly understood by probably not more than one person in a million. You know a thing mentally by looking at it from the outside, by comparing it with other things, by analyzing it, and defining it [by thinking of it]; whereas you can know a thing spiritually only by becoming it [only thinking from it]. You must be the thing itself and not merely talk about it or look at it.

In his book, Neville Goddard gives an example of an emaciated young man, loved by all, with two little children and at death's door. So ill was he that he'd virtually lost the power of speech. Neville asked the young man to feel and imagine that the healing had already transpired. According to William Blake, all that you see see, though it appear without, is actually within, in your imagination. Neville's exact words were:

I suggested that in imagination, he see the doctor's face expressing incredulous amazement in finding him recovered, contrary to all reason, from the last stages of an incurable disease, that he see him double-checking in his examination and hear him saying over and over, 'It's a miracle-It's a miracle.'

The magic of believing in miracles (with the correct approach) worked. The young man returned to normal health. The secret was that rather than hoping for improved health, he assumed and acted from already living in perfect health. This works because quantum physics tells us there exist an infinite number of potential realities we may choose from-positive, negative and neutral. The approach described herein, elicits the positive reality desired.

One reason many people don't have miracles transpiring in their lives is because they reject the magic of believing. Miracles are a fact of life. We can choose to explain away apparent miracles, or we can welcome them into our lives. It all has to do with choosing to believe in miracles and then acting as if the miracle already transpired. Particularly with children, it is important for we logical adults to let them have their imaginations and miracles and not explain them away.

Summarizing the Magic of Believing:

  1. The only reality is consciousness.

  2. Therefore, there can be no coincidences since everything is directed by consciousness.

  3. Quantum physics has proven that consciousness effects physical reality.

  4. It is the intent of our thoughts, and not the words themselves, which influence reality.

  5. To erase negative influences in our life, we must identify negative beliefs, and eliminate them by placing our consciousness on opposite positive beliefs.

  6. One common example of consciousness effecting reality is the placebo effect.

  7. That which we place our consciousness upon is what we worship. Hence, we must be selective in employing our consciousness in accomplishing the positive.

  8. To increase the possibility of miracles in our lives, we must not talk ourselves out of them, or let others do so.

  9. Childrens' minds often appear to create miracles easier than adult minds because their minds are uncluttered by opposing beliefs that can neutralize positive ones. Hence, we must encourage our children to use their minds positively and introduce them to the magic of believing.

  10. Miracles are motivated by burning desire, and created through the intensity of our thoughts, imaginations and emotions, when we assume, act if, think, feel and imagine from the position that our miracle has already transpired. Thus we continually experience the joy of the act already done.

  11. Perhaps miracles are not miracles at all, but simply a normal part of the nature of our reality?

  12. We are each part of a great consciousness, souls in other words, that has been evidenced by past life regressions:
