Quiz: Bioidentical Oral Progesterone

Bioidentical oral progesterone {pro (for) gest (pregnancy)},
or the for pregnancy hormone, is absolutely necessary for
sustaining pregnancy, as well as, healthy, disease free male
and female human lives.

The use of the term oral progesterone in no way is meant to
imply that oral progesterone is superior than the cream.
Much of the information on this quiz comes from Dr. Robert
Lee, MD, who made his life's work researching
progesterone.

  5. Which of the following are true about Provera and
    progesterone:

    a) Provera promotes breast cancer, but progesterone protects
    against it.
    b) Provera blocks production of sex hormones, but
progesterone is needed in their production.
    c) Provera causes depression and irritability, but
    progesterone is a natural tranquilizer.
    d) Provera can cause blood clots, but progesterone
    normalilzes clotting.
    e) Provera causes fluid retention, but progesterone acts as
    a diuretic
    f) Provera impairs glucose tolerance, but progesterone
    normalizes glucose tolerance.
    g) All of the above are true
    h) a, b c & f are true

  6. Regarding the Progesterone-Provera issue:

    a) All of the major studies (heart, breast and uterine
cancer, and osteoporosis) have been done with Provera, not
    progesterone
    b) The lab tests for progesterone receptors in breast
tissue, tests for Provera, not progesterone
    c) The conclusion is hormone replacement therapy is not
really identical hormone replacement therapy since
progesterone is being replaced by Provera
    d) Big Pharma has colluded with the medical industry to
misinform and confuse women on this issue
    e) All of the above are true
    f) b, c, and d are true

  7. Provera, also, can cause migraines and weight gain. So why is Provera prescribed, usually, instead of progesterone?
    a) It works faster than progesterone
    b) It's cheaper than progesterone
    c) It's absorbed orally
    d) It can be patented, which pays for expensive testing, and
yields greater profits for Big Pharma
    e) c & d

  8. It has been hypothesized that estrogen and progesterone
oppose each other, and yet promote normal bodily functions
when they exist in proper ratios to one another-where there
are significantly greater amounts of progesterone than
estrogen. According to this hypothesis, estrogen acts to
initiate cell multiplication through increasing the cell's
fluid uptake. Progesterone then organizes this uncontrolled
growth, causing the cells to differentiate into various
tissues (heart, lung, etc.) and eventually stop growing.

In this model, estrogen promotes a low oxygen or anaerobic
environment, leading to the production of lactic acid, like
one experiences with sore muscles. Progesterone, on the
other hand, promotes a normal oxygen or aerobic environment
for the cell leading to the production of water and carbon
dioxide. The progesterone mediated environment leads to
normal cellular growth and differentiation, while the
estrogenic environment, if not eventually organized and
controlled by progesterone, leads to uncontrolled cellular
    proliferation or cancer.

According to this model, it is important that estrogen and
progesterone be in balance, and, particularly, there exist
enough progesterone to control estrogen. When there is too
little progesterone compared to estrogen or too much
estrogen compared to progesterone, the condition has been
named estrogen dominance by Dr. Robert Lee, MD. Moreover,
Dr. Lee believes that environmental contaminants and toxins
often have estrogenic effects that swing the pendulum
    favoring estrogen dominance in humans.

Keeping the aforementioned information in mind, what effects
    might estrogen dominance create:

    a) Prostate cancer
    b) Cancer of the reproductive organs in women
    c) Breast cancer
    d) Premenstrual syndrome
    e) Menopausal Problems
    f) Post-partum depression
    g) All of the above

  9. Since the birth control pill contains estrogen, it too,
conceivably, could lead to estrogen dominance, with any of
the effects mentioned previously. In the early years of
birth control pill use, what eye problem did optometrists
    occasionally notice in young women?

    a) Cataracts that disappeared when clients were put on
    weaker contraceptive pills
    b) Permanent cataracts
    c) Cancer of the lens of the eye
    d) All of the above

  10. Regarding bioidentical oral progesterone, Dr. Katarina
Dalton found profound improvements in academic and physical
performance in children whose mothers received progesterone
supplementation prior to the sixteenth week of pregnancy.
    Estrogenic effects
have been blamed for the steep fall
in man's sperm production, as well as, birth defects and
children's brain damage. It may be that Dalton's
children's profound improvement was due to progesterone's:

    a) Neutralizing environmental estrogens
    b) Preventing estrogen dominance
    c) Optimizing the nutrition to the unborn baby at the
    critical time of imprinting
    d) All of the above

  11. Some of the ways bioidentical oral progesterone prevents
    cancer are:

    a) It increases activity of the P53 gene that protects the
    body from cancer.
    b) It down regulates the BCL2 gene that causes cancer
    c) It causes adhesion in the cell
    d) It prevents cell replication
    e) It converts estrogen into a weaker less carcinogenic state
    f) There are many other ways progesterone prevents cancer
    g) Bioidentical oral progesterone does all of the above, but
Provera does none of the above.

  12. Only research can determine the effectiveness of
bioidentical oral progesterone in disease prevention and
enhancing human physical and mental ability. However, from
what is known presently, progesterone, in addition to
thyroid hormone and an optimized vitamin and mineral
formula, including a diet of organic food, filtered water,
along with a major environmental clean up could, potentially:

    a) Prevent childrens' brain damage disorders that lead to
ADHD, autism, learning disabilities and other behavioral
    disorders.
    b) Prevent childrens' brain cancer.
    c) Increase average IQ to the 135 range
    d) Help prevent Down's syndrome
    e) Be particularly effective against cancer of the
reproductive organs and breast in women, and of the prostate
    in men
    f) Eliminate all cancer
    g) Lead to the birth of calmer children, who in later years
would prove physically and mentally advanced and relatively
disease free, due to their superior start in life
    h) All of the above and possibly much more
